Crazy week, ended in Baby Shower fun!

Last week was one of the busier weeks I have had in a long time!
On Sunday, we traveled back from St. George from a little quick planned vacation with my Best Friend from High School, our husbands, and kids! It was super fun, however extremely exhausting!
(Next time I think we will try a vacation without kids... not a trip with the little ones!)

A Happy Mother's Day we had ... shopping and a little pool time!

Stopped by my parent's house for a Happy Mother's Day to my mom, and Happy Birthday to my dad!

Tuesday was our Studio 5 neighborhood Party with all the teens in our neighborhood!
Last day of Bryson's first year of Preschool!
Thanks Mrs. Tanya for an amazing year!
Mom came with me to Studio 5
Have I mentioned how awesome my mom is? I am SO lucky!

My friend Krissa helped me buy and plant flowers! Don't you love them??
Before
After
(Okay so I need to show you a picture in a month or so ... but I am SO excited!)

Next was throwing a Baby shower for a cute friend of mine in my ward.

Thanks to Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio, it came together so cute!
Here is the invitation for a teaser. I will post about the entire shower in the next few days!

I finished a wedding announcement that I have been doing for a free-lance job. Can't wait to show you the final invitation! It is so unique and cute!
Hope you're having a GREAT week!

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! & Studio 5!

This announcement is one I have been contemplaing to share with my blog readers for a few months now. I decided that I would wait until all of our paperwork was finished to tell you!

Adam & I have been contemplating, praying, wondering if we should bring another child into our family. The doctors have told us, absolutely no more kids on our own. It could be very devastating to both me and the child if I were to bear another kiddo.

After a few years of thought, and 6 months of paperwork, we found out last night that we are approved to ADOPT!! We couldn't be anymore thrilled, excited, scared ... but mostly excited!!

We could not think of a better thing that to adopt a child whom we would love more than you can know! Bryson & Chad keep telling everyone we see that we are going to have a baby! (of course then I get a surprised and happy look on the faces of strangers ... then having to explain we are adopting!!

Please pass this link along to anyone you know that is looking for a wonderful family to place their child into. Click HERE and HERE to find out more about our family. Email us at skierdouglass@gmail.com!

NOW onto another fun segment on Studio 5

This segment I have had a BLAST preparing! It was all about an "S" is for summer party! It was awesome to see it all come together as a REAL party! Yellow balloons (found at PIONEER PARTY in Lehi Utah) & Fun printables that you can download here to direct the kids to each event.

We started off the segment by a HUGE party that we chose to do for the segment with the teens in my neighborhood! The kids had a so much fun running through a “Welcome to Summer Sign”!
The sign you see was printed by Alphagraphics in Lehi, Utah ... but for those of you who aren't in Utah or near an Alphagraphics location, CLICK HERE for the Welcome to Summer poster file! (Tip ... Color costs quite a big, so print it in black and white if you are looking to cut costs!)

Next was a SUPER big Slip n' Slide!
Isn't this just AWESOME!! It is actually 3 billboard signs put together. My neighbors do this multiple times each summer for the kids in the neighborhood and they just love it. If you can't find a billboard company that won't sell you one (Don't try Regan ... they don't sell them) grab some Painters plastic at your local hardware store! It works great too!

Smaller scale tip, find a cheap slip and slide to do in the back yard! You can find great deals on them this time of year, and the kids LOVE them!

Water balloon Pinata, which would be our SPLASH station!
I took regular sized round balloons, filled them up with water, and tied them to a rope that was hung between two trees. The kids grabbed a plastic bat and swung as hard as they could! Believe it or not, there were some serious baseball players that couldn't break them! It was unbelievable! When they finally did break, you can notice that the "Splash" was an understatement!!

Work it BABY Work it at the SNAPSHOT booth!
Kids love to have their pictures taken, and what a great occasion to get pictures of all the kids and their friends at the end of the year! Check out these DARLING props you can download HERE at www.paperandcake.com

No summer party is complete without SNOWCONES!

All the teens loved this! We rented the Snow cone machine from PARTY LAND in Lehi. It is $50 for the day, (not including your cups, straws, & syrup). It was the hit of the neighborhood, and we even caught a few adults loving them too!

Smaller Party?? Maybe try an Ice Cream Sundae bar! I found this one on Martha Stewart! Click here to read more!

We couldn't get away without those darling stripy straws that you can also get at Pioneer Party. The little slurp circles give the perfect added decorating touch. Download them with the rest of the printables listed above.

For a little bit Smaller Scale Party, have a booth to make SANDALS!!

I would keep it easy and just to a cute silk flower with a gem in the middle, but if you have the energy, check out these cute flip flops I found!
This one is in Norwegian however you can get the idea from pictures!

And last but not least ... A Box of Sunshine!
(Picture coming with link to segment on Studio 5)

Put in your box: Sunkist, Sunglasses, Sidewalk Chalk, Lemon Drops, Starburst, Sodapop Bubbles, Sunscreen, etc. etc! Anything that is yellow or starts is "S"
You can download the printable HERE

Thank you so much to the Teen's in our neighborhood for being such troopers and coming to my fun Summer Party. It was so much fun!

Please comment or email me if you have any questions!

Mother's Day Projects & Coupon Codes!

Every year I wonder what I should do for my mom for Mother's Day! I can't believe it is just a few days away. I have had a few people email me for directions on a few projects I have done on my blog, so I though, heck, why not do a post about some cute Mother's day ideas!

First off!
I have a new sponsor that came to my rescue just in the nick of time for Mother's day ... and for you last minute women like me! They have a fantastic promotion for Mother's day that I couldn't keep to myself!

Check out these awesome photo gifts they are offering!

To recieve a 20% Discount through May 13, enter code #1mom
First, are the SHAPED METAL PLATES!
(Be sure to click "order now" to view the cute design options)

These are the cutes shaped wall decor I have seen in a while. They can attach cute ribbon to the metal prints so they are a finished product and ready to hang. Or you can order them without the holes and display them on an easel. They can also put a backing on them to hang them on a wall. YEP! They are pretty much amazing! You can see the real deal at their store at
79 Main Street, in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Or What about these:
(Be sure to click "order now" to view the cute design options)

I don't know about you, but I LOVE to have a drink in my hand at all times. I can't wait to hint to Adam for one of these!

I am grateful to a bunch of great people that have "pinned" this project I did last year for Mother's Day for my mom:
I can not tell you the response I have gotten for this ... so here are a few tips if you are looking to create one for yourself!

1. I used a simple Flower Die cut from Lifestyle crafts. I used two flowers per picture. Then I printed my pictures out and cut them with a 2" Circle punch. I placed the picture on one flower, hot glued the flower to a bamboo skewer (yes the kind you get at the grocery store to put kabobs on). Then I hot glued another flower on the back to give it some dimension.

2. The leaves for the flower are just different widths and patterns of green ribbon.

3. I placed some crafters foam and the bottom of my bucket and placed the flowers in. Then covered the foam with the "gift" crinkle paper filler.

A Cute reader of mine totally rolled with this project and did a step by step tutorial on her blog on how to make one. Visit Danielle at crafting-crazy.com for another way of doing this!

One last idea was one I did for Studio 5 in December. I had a cute friend email me about this one and thought I would pass along the idea!

Hope you all have a VERY Happy Mother's Day! I will be spending mine in Southern Utah ... SO excited for a little vacation!

An End is in Site!

I can't believe we are almost there! Adam officially finishes his Masters Degree from the University of Utah in August, however Adam was given the option to walk in May before he officially finishes. Although he wasn't sure he wanted to walk, we both felt like it would be something we would like to have in our memory books.

A year ago from this time, I didn't think I was going to make it! I honestly don't know how women put their husbands through years and years of school! This past semester Adam would put the boys to bed on Sunday night and not see them until Thursday night. It was so hard on me and the boys. Adam was more stressed than I had ever seen him. However, it changed out lives. It made us stronger, and we realized we can do hard things!

a
But as of this weekend, we realized ... we are almost done!! I can't believe it! This weekend has been SO awesome! Adam's parents and brother came to the graduation, along with my parents too! We didn't want to make it too big of a deal, since he still has two classes to finish, but like I said before ... the end is in site!
